Italian news outlet, Calcio Napoli have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Napoli midfielder, Amadou Diawara by making a £33m by the end of January. The North London club have been monitoring the 20-year-old for some time and had already expressed their interests back in November. Diawara is tied down with the Serie A league leaders till the summer of 2021 and has made 18 appearances this season.
Diawara was discovered by Numukeh Tunkara who paved the way for the Guinea-born midfielder’s signing with Lega Pro side, San Marino in 2014 – his first professional contract. Primarily a holding midfielder, Diawara possesses all the traits of a dominant superstar at the heart of the park. In his limited minutes for the I Ciucciarelli, the youngster has displayed great maturity and composure. He last appeared in the side’s 1-2 loss to Atlanta in the Coppa Italia.
Diawara is certainly one of the brightest young prospects in the Serie A and will soon be on the wishlist of multitudinous European sides. Tottenham will credit themselves by noticing his talents early and are eager to make a swoop before any other side in the Premier League catches the trail.
Mauricio Pochettino has struggled to compete in multiple tournaments with the lack of much depth in the squad.
