Reports coming out of England have confirmed that Watford has parted ways with manager Marco Silva. Watford’s decision to sack Marco Silva comes as little surprise given his commitment issues at the club which resulted in their poor form of late. Reports had come out about Silva’s head being turned ever since rumours spread linking him with the managerial job at Everton surfaced. With Silva now out of a job, these are the three clubs he can potentially join in the English Premier League.
Southampton
Southampton’s inconsistent start to the season has left the club languishing out of the top 10 and in the relegation zone in 18th position in the table. As the pressure grows on new manager Mauricio Pellegrino, the saints will feel that 4 wins in twenty-four matches are far from the desired start they were hoping for. They have collected 22 points from their twenty-four game weeks and will be hoping to change their luck soon. The club appears to be flirting with danger and will have to improve drastically to finish in a respectable position.
Southampton, who have an expensively assembled squad in the English Premier League, oversaw a tumultuous summer that saw the arrival of Manuel Pellegrino at the helm of the club and the Virgil Van Dijk saga carry on forever. In six months at the club, Pellegrino has failed to make his mark at the club and bringing in Marco Silva could help them rejuvenate their game
Newcastle United
Another side who has been inconsistent in the league, the Magpies sit in the 15th position on the table. With the talks for a takeover stalled, Benitez could well be on his way out. The Spaniard has made no secret of the fact that Newcastle United need new players. However, with Newcastle unable to sell their existing crop of players and a purse-stringent owner at the helm, Newcastle has had to deal with a stagnant squad and that has frustrated Benitez.
Marco Silva could potentially find the hot seat at Newcastle empty should Benitez and Mike Ashley fail to solve out their differences.
Everton
The club, termed as “responsible” by the Hornets for the sacking of Silva, could well be the one to bring him back to work. The Toffees endured a horrid start to the season which saw Ronald Koeman get the boot. His full-time successor Sam Allardyce enjoyed a decent start to life at Merseyside but things have fallen apart since. Having spent so much on buying expensive players, Moshiri could well again pull the trigger on Big Sam making Marco Silva the hot favourite to land the job.
