Rangers have confirmed that they have signed Nottingham Forest striker, Jason Cummings on loan for the remainder of the season. The 22-year-old has just registered 877 minutes of game time this season – a struggle that has persisted ever since he arrived at City Ground before the start of the season.
A boyhood fan of the Hearts, Cummings joined the youth program of the club after impressing for Hutchison Vale. But his talents, unfortunately, did not cut it for the senior side, and he was released by the club in 2013.
The Edinburgh-born striker got signed by Hibernian that very summer and went on to make 149 appearances for the club netting the ball 71 times and furthering 23 assists. His impressive display while playing for the Scottish side earned him a £1m move to Forest only to be hit by a developmental brick wall. The Scotland national team paid both his former clubs a reward fee over the development of the youngster and capped him at senior level on 17 June.`

The fans at Ibrox Stadium are pleased to see their side contending for the league title after winning promotion last year but on the other hand, will be disappointed to see Celtic win their seventh consecutive Scottish Premiership trophy.
Rangers will have to play an unlikely catch up now and while a gap of eleven points is mathematically chasable, Rangers will know the obscure nature of the task. After the 0-0 draw to the league leaders in their last game of 2017, the climb is now even tougher with the gruelling second half of the season already upon us.
Club striker, Michael O’Halloran was singled out by fans and media over his disappointing showing against Corinthians on Saturday. Even though Rangers came back to win 4-2 against the Brazilian outfit, O’Halloran really struggled to find his feet and might just have fallen out of favour with the manager, Graeme Murty.
The best attacking threat in the club is 21-year-old Alfredo Morelos who has nabbed 10 league goals this season. With O’Halloran struggling and a veteran Kenny Miller facing the end stages of his career, the club needs an inspired and hungry striker to push their ambitions forward.
Cummings is well adept to play in the number nine role and enjoys running at the opposition defenders whenever he gets the ball. His strength and hold up play easily makes him one of the best threats for a side who does not allow the defender’s a moment of rest.
