Rangers clinched a 1-2 away win against Ross County to make their position strong on the league table. They are currently at the second spot with 46 points, 11 points behind league leaders Celtic. Graeme Murty’s side will hope to win the next few matches as well and help themselves to gain a significant advantage in Scottish Premiership this season.
Here is how Graeme Murty’s side fared against the Staggies.
Wes Foderingham 6/10
The custodian was hardly tested throughout the game as Rangers were indeed quite resilient at the back today. Nonetheless, he did the basics right and distributed the ball pretty well,
James Tavernier 7.5/10
Tavernier showcased a lot of industry whilst galloping forward and churned crosses into the box. He created havoc in the backline of the home side. He was solid defensively as well and did a fine job.
Russell Martin 7/10
He was indeed quite strong in the air and dealt with the offensive endeavours of the opposition with relative ease.
David Bates 7/10
Bates was another defender who was resilient today but needs to be consistent from here onwards.
Declan John 7/10
He went forward quite a lot in the first-half and piled pressure on Ross County’s defence with his runs. John catered to his defensive duties more after the break.
Daniel Candeias 8.5/10
Candeias scored the opening goal and then ran himself throughout the pitch as he showed immense work-ethic. He dictated the tempo of the game and worked with great purpose.
Jason Holt 8/10
He was handed the captain’s armband and he really put on a performance that we would love to see from the skipper. Holt got himself involved all over the pitch and engineered lots of passes to knit the side together as a unit.
Sean Goss 7/10
Goss was a livewire in the first-half but unfortunately, his quality fell after the break as he failed to keep the momentum going.
Jamie Murphy 7/10
Murphy had some really nice touches on the ball and was trying to create something notable in the final third more often than not. He contributed substantially to cater to the defensive needs of his side.
Josh Windass 6/10
He was a player who struggled to make his presence felt today. He couldn’t manage to get himself into the scheme of things and was out of his position pretty often.
Alfredo Morelos 6/10
Morelos got some chances to score but he ruined them, although he was quite strong in the final third.
Substitutions
Greg Doherty 7/10
He was put forth to inject some willingness and energy, which he successfully did
Jason Cummings 8/10
Cummings mustered a cool finish which eventually turned out to be the winning goal for the Light Blues
Andy Halliday NA
He substituted Candeias for the final minutes of the game.
