Rangers FC are eyeing former Crystal Palace youngster, Reise Allassani who has caught the eye of many after his 17 goal showing in 16 outings for Dulwich Hamlet this season. Glasgow Rangers find themselves in the third spot in the Scottish Premiership after twenty-two match weeks.
The Bluenoses are now eleven points behind the defending champions Celtic and three behind second-placed Aberdeen.
Rangers will have to play an unlikely catch up now and while a gap of eleven points is mathematically achievable, Rangers will know the obscure nature of the task. After the 0-0 loss to the league leaders in their last game of 2017, the climb is now even tougher with the gruelling second half of the season ready to tax the players even more.
Pedro Caixinha who had tried to bring about a revolution with his approach and player signings at the Ibrox failed with his approach and subsequently got fired. His successor Graeme Murty has done a decent job so far. Murty most importantly restored club legend forward Kenny Miller to the team as he continues to rearrange the team.
It is now being reported that Rangers are interested in signing the 22-year old forward from Dulwich Hamlet. The prolific young striker has attracted interest from many clubs with Norwich City being the club said to be most keen on his signature.
Speaking in November, Dulwich boss Gavin Rose said: “We’ve had about seven or eight Championship clubs, one Premier League club show interest and a League Two club.”
“I don’t know how we are going to manage that one. We expect to receive more offers.
“His scoring return is unbelievable. He’s getting stronger and getting more confident. He’s still learning, believe it or not. There is a lot of growth in Reise and we believe that is going to be at a higher level. For the time being, he is here and we can enjoy what he is doing.
“At the moment you don’t really want to sell Reise for any other reason than it to be to better himself. But in the back of our heads, we know we may need to sell him – even if it is for a small fee – to make sure we can honour the boys’ wages.
“It is a good situation to be in. We can sell a player to further his career and help us out in the short term.”
With Rangers looking to build a team for many years to come to challenge Celtic in the long run, Murty will know that Miller does not have a long career ahead of him and finding able replacements to replace the club legend striker has to be something of great concern for Rangers, something maybe Reise Allassani can help the club with.
