Manchester United are plotting an ambitious move for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane. According to recent reports in the English press, the Red Devils are set to clash heads with Real Madrid in pursuit of the Spurs striker. The 24-year-old is one of the hottest commodities in world football right now which has seen him being linked with a big-money move to the Spanish capital in recent times. However, United are set to enter the race as well with their current frontline struggling to score goals of late. It is believed that Chelsea and Manchester City are also considering an approach for Kane although the Red Devils are deemed as the biggest competitor for Florentino Perez in his attempt to convince the England international to ply his trade at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Some sources have already claimed in the past that the Reds of Manchester were prepared to officially table a £170m offer for Kane and it is understood that a big-money offer is probably the only thing that can lure him away from North London. In a recent press conference, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the future of Harry Kane by stating that,
“I hope that Harry Kane will be here for many years and bring lots of goals and victories and win some titles, that’s what we want.
“Being responsible for a club like Tottenham, I would say if Real Madrid came, we would tell them we do not want to sell him. He would stay here and he would have to understand.
“Kane doesn’t have a price because we love him here. He is off the market.”
It is clear from the Tottenham manager’s comments that the club has no intention of parting ways with their record-breaking forward and will try do everything they can to keep hold of him. However, the lure of playing at one of the prestigious institutions of world football might be enough to prize Kane away from the North London club.
Kane has scored 24 goals and made 3 assists in 25 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur this season. He was the highest scorer in the football calendar year of 2017 beating Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the process. The forward has already proven that he is a prolific goalscorer who can deliver against the bigger teams which Manchester United can make use of! Any potential move to Old Trafford will depend upon whether the Red Devils are willing to splash the cash for arguably, the best striker in the planet right now.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Harry Kane as some of the European elites line up for his services.
