West Bromwich Albion midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak is reportedly set to end his nightmare loan spell at the Hawthorns with Getafe willing to provide him with an escape route to La Liga. Some sources are claiming that the Polish midfielder who moved from Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan to the West Midlands in the summer is finally set to make a switch to La Liga in search of more first-team football.
The 27-year-old midfielder turned down offers from a whole host of clubs from Spain and Italy as he was desperate to make a move to the Premier League in the summer. However, his time at West Brom has not panned out well so far with manager Alan Pardew ready to send him back to PSG in order to make more space in his squad for new arrivals in January.
The Polish international is yet to score in the Premier League and has featured in 16 matches for the Baggies in all competitions. He is in dire need of regular game time with a place in the Poland squad up for grabs for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia which is looming on the horizon. Any potential move for Krychowiak in January might be a big blow for West Brom in their attempts to save themselves from a potential relegation from the top tier of English football.
West Bromwich Albion are in deep trouble and currently find themselves in 19th place in the Premier League table, four points off safety. Manager Alan Pardew has failed to make an impact after his arrival mid-season with the Baggies not tasting victory in any of their last 20 league matches. They recently suffered a heart-breaking injury-time defeat at East London when West Ham United came back from a goal down to beat them.
Their last result has summed up their season so far with the likes of Krychowiak failing to make an impression this season. So it is only fair for all parties that the midfielder moves on for greener pastures. The Polish international has failed to live up to the high expectations garnered during his arrival at the Hawthorns and a potential switch will be beneficial for everyone involved.
Alan Pardew will be desperate to make some quality additions in the ongoing transfer window which might be his team’s last chance to save themselves from the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Grzegorz Krychowiak and whether Getafe are successful in their pursuit of the player.
