AS Monaco are willing to listen to offers for their star winger Keita Baldé. According to recent reports in the English media, the Ligue 1 club are looking to sell their prized asset which would put the Premier League pair of Liverpool and Arsenal on red alert with the transfer deadline fast approaching. The 22-year-old talent only signed for the French club last summer from Serie A side Lazio in a deal worth to be in the region of £30m. However, AS Monaco sporting director Michael Emenalo has been given the responsibility of buying low and selling on – and it is now emerging that the Senegalese international could be sold if the right offer comes in for the player.
It is believed that Napoli has been looking to arrange a deal for the winger this week who plays in the Senegal national team alongside Liverpool winger Sadio Mane. The Reds need to act fast if they are to have any chance of securing Balde’s signature before the transfer window comes to a close at the end of this month. The Merseyside has also been linked with a move for Balde’s club teammate at Monaco, Thomas Lemar in recent weeks but the Reds have halted their approach after it was revealed that the Ligue 1 outfit were asking for a mammoth fee of £90m for his services.
Balde is highly versatile and can operate in any position across the front line which would suit Jurgen Klopp’s style of play at Liverpool. The player might jump at a chance to move to Merseyside as he will be reunited with his international colleague Sadio Mane. The 22-year-old has scored 5 goals and created 9 assists in 24 appearances for AS Monaco this season across all competitions.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently in 4th place in the Premier League standings at the back of a disappointing defeat away at Swansea City on Monday night. The Reds are building for a brighter future under Fenway Sports Group’s ownership and has made a habit of recruiting talented players in recent history as evidenced by the transfers of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Phillipe Coutinho among many other talents in the last decade.
Klopp could be the ideal manager to get the best out of Balde if he makes a switch to Anfield in the near future.
Only time will tell whether the Merseyside club will go in with an offer for the player before the end of this transfer window.
