Liverpool have joined their Premier League rivals Manchester United in the race to sign Real Madrid’s attacking superstar Gareth Bale as he prepares for an exit in the upcoming summer.
The Welshman has failed to win the hearts of the Real Madrid supporters, largely due to his frequent injury concerns and is highly linked with a move back to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester United reportedly interested.
However, Merseyside giants, Liverpool joining the race, could make things a little complicated for Gareth Bale, who now has to choose between the two Premier League rivals.
There’s very little doubt as to why the Welshman will become a stunning addition to the Reds, should he joins the club in the summer. The former Tottenham superstar is one of the best British footballers in the current generation, if not the best and his inclusion to Liverpool, who are already brimming with a host of attacking talents, will be something worth looking forward to next season.
Liverpool have been unstoppable when it comes to the attacking department this season. Only table-toppers Manchester City, who are in the league of their own, have managed to outscore the Merseyside giants.
While new signing Mohamed Salah has been one of the best players in Europe this season, with 24 goals and nine assists in just 30 games, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane’s tally of 17 and 9 goals all competitions have propelled the Reds this campaign.
Gareth Bale, on the other hand, is perfectly suited to the tactical philosophy of Jurgen Klopp. His sheer pace along with his eye for goal is tailor-made for someone like Klopp, who models his game around maintaining an aggression and constantly restricting opposition the space to work with.
Furthermore, Gareth Bale has already shown what he is capable of, in his previous stint with Tottenham Hotspur. The Welshman has featured in almost 150 games in the English top flight, during which he has netted 43 goals and provided 31 assists, meaning he probably won’t take much time in getting used to the Premier League.
Head coach Jurgen Klopp has the funds available to make a move for the Wales International following the sale of Philipe Coutinho to FC Barcelona. The Real Madrid forward will be an ideal replacement for the Brazilian playmaker when it comes to productivity in the final third and is definitely expected to make a big impact after returning to his former breeding ground.
