Leicester City faced Fleetwood Town in the third round of the FA Cup today at Highbury and could only earn a 0-0 draw against the League One side, and impliedly, a replay at the King Power Stadium.
Here is how we rate Claude Puel’s men from their unconvincing display in the cup game against Uwe Rosler’s troops.
Eldin Jakupovic 7/10
Kasper Schmeichel has been the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper in the Premier League for the Foxes. Eldin Jakupovic got a start in the cup fixture and constructed a decent show and managed to keep things neat and tidy.
Daniel Amartey 6.5/10
Amartey was far from being impressive as he failed to showcase industrious toil and hardly galloped forward to join in the attack.
Aleksandar Dragovic 6.5/10
He showed lack of confidence and scared Jakupovic at times with his back passes.
Yohan Benalouane 7/10
Benalouane lived up to the physical aspect of the game and stood firm against the attacking endeavours of the opposition more often than not.
Ben Chilwell 6.5/10
The 21-year-old left-back was lively in the first half, with his marauding runs being quite appealing, but he slowed down in the second half.
Andy King 6/10
He led the side from the middle, but despite his tries, he couldn’t create anything majestic and was unsuccessful to leave a mark.
Adrien Silva 5/10
Silva was one of the many players who simply couldn’t find his feet in the game and was rightfully replaced before the hour mark.
Matty James 7.5/10
The 26-year-old was arguably the best player for Puel’s side and he did show a lot of composure and resilience in the middle.
Harvey Barnes 6/10
It was indeed a hot-and-cold day at the office for Barnes as he looked dazzling at times and on the other occasions, he went invisible.
Islam Slimani 6/10
Slimani received a start and in what he could have made a point for himself, he failed to grab the opportunity in the way he should have. However, he was hardly rendered much of support.
Demarai Gray 6.5/10
The blossoming youngster put on display some quality in the attack, but he wasn’t successful in finding the back of the net.
Substitutions
Marc Albrighton 6/10
He came on the pitch after Barnes was pulled out before the hour mark, but couldn’t do anything to render a win for his employers.
Shinji Okazaki 6/10
Okazaki was introduced for Silva to break the defence of the Cod Army but couldn’t get it done.
Kelechi Iheanacho 5.5/10
The former Manchester City youngster replaced Slimani late in the second half but didn’t look convincing up front.
