FPL game week 25 is a midweek game week. So, you need to have your transfers done by 18:45 UK time on January 30th.
There are just three games on the 30th as Swansea take on Arsenal, West Ham vs Crystal Palace and Huddersfield vs Liverpool. There are then seven FPL games on Wednesday the 31st. Chelsea vs Bournemouth, Everton vs Leicester, Newcastle vs Burnley and Southampton vs Brighton are the 7:45 kickoffs on Wednesday. There are then three games that kick off at 8 pm as Manchester City vs West Brom, Spurs vs Manchester United and Stoke vs Watford.
Here are three players you should sign this game week.
Marcos Alonso (7.3)
Chelsea have not had the best of luck in front of goal recently. However, their defence has remained largely solid. One of their best defenders this season has been Marcos Alonso. Alonso is the top Chelsea defender on FPL 137 points.
Those 137 points also make him the top defender overall on FPL as well as having the 5th most points of anyone on FPL this season so far. A large part of why Alonso has so many points this season is because he scores a lot of goals for a defender. He has managed six already this season in the league and he could well reach double figures by the end of the season.
However, Chelsea’s solid defence also make Alonso the best defender on FPL as he has helped Chelsea keep impressive 12 clean sheets this season in the league. Plus, Chelsea are at home to Bournemouth this week which very likely means Chelsea and Alonso will keep another clean sheet.
Raheem Sterling (8.9)
After suffering their first defeat of the season in the league to Liverpool, City bounced back last week as they beat Newcastle United 3-1. This would suggest City’s defeat looks to be a one-off as they still look the threat they did before losing to Liverpool.
City now take on West Brom at home this game week. West Brom are currently 19th in the league. They have also won just three times this season, the lowest in the league. So, it is very likely City will put quite a few past a struggling West Brom side.
Therefore, you should have a City player in your FPL team this week. Your best bet is Raheem Sterling. Sterling is having his best ever season in the Premier League. He has scored 14 goals and earned eight assists in the league already this season. This makes him Manchester City’s best FPL player. It also makes him the second best midfielder on FPL this season. And at just 8.9 you would be made not to have Sterling in your side.
Jamie Vardy (8.5)
After a poor start to the season, Leicester City have slowly climbed the table to 7th place. One of their best player this season and a big part of why they are 7th is Jamie Vardy. Vardy has scored 10 goals and assisted two in the league already this season.
This has earned him an impressive 108 FPL points. It also makes him the 5th best striker on FPL this season. Which for his 8.5 price tag is very good. Plus, Leicester are playing Everton this game week. Everton are in really poor form. They have failed to win their last five league games, losing three of them.
So, you would, therefore, except that Leicester will be able to see off Everton this game week. And given Vardy is their top scorer, he is likely to be in on the goals.
