FPL Game week 24 kicks off on Saturday the 20th of January at 12:30 UK time as Brighton host Chelsea. So, make sure your transfers are done by 11:30 on the 20th. There are then six 3 pm kickoffs on Saturday.
These are Arsenal vs Crystal Palace, Burnley vs Manchester United, Everton vs West Brom, Leicester vs Watford, Stoke vs Huddersfield and West Ham vs Bournemouth. The late kick-off on Saturday is Manchester City vs Newcastle.
There is just one game on Sunday this week as Southampton vs Spurs. GW 24 then ends Monday this week as Swansea host Liverpool on Monday night.
Here are three players you should sign this week.
Heung-Min Son (8.1)
If you are in need of a cheap midfielder who is going to do well for you most weeks, look no further than Heung-Min Son. Son is having probably what is his best season in a Spurs shirt so far this season.
He has managed eight goals and five assists already this season for Spurs in the league. This has earned him an impressive 112 FPL points already this season. That also makes him the 6th best midfielder on FPL this season. And considering that Son will cost you just 8.1, being the 6th best on FPL this season is very impressive. Especially when everyone above him costs at least 0.5 more.
Furthermore, Spurs are playing Southampton this week. Southampton are having a poor season. And they could well be in a relegation battle come the end of the season. They are currently 16th in the league and their recent form is awful. In their last five, they have lost two and drew three. They also failed to beat an out of form Watford side last week despite being 2-0 at one point in the game. So, given Spurs are in good form, you would expect them to put a few past The Saints this week.
Raheem Sterling (8.9)
Manchester City suffered their first loss in the Premier League this season last week as they were beaten 4-3 by an inform Liverpool side. However, City are still probably the best team in the league this season. And they still have a 12 point lead at the top of the table even with last week’s loss.
Manchester City are also at home to Newcastle this game week and will be looking to bounce straight back from their defeat to Liverpool. Newcastle have not lost in their last three games. But they are just three points above the relegation zone. Also, given the quality City poses this season, it’s hard to see anything over than a Manchester City win in this game.
Therefore, you will want a City player in your FPL team this week. That man should be Raheem Sterling. Admittedly, Sterling had a poor game vs Liverpool. But he is still Manchester City’s best player on FPL this season. He has scored 14 goals and assisted seven already this season in the league for City. An incredibly impressive record for a midfielder. He has also earned 147 FPL points this season making him the second-best player on FPL this season joint with Harry Kane. However, Sterling will cost you just 8.9 compared to Kane’s 13.0.
Marcos Alonso (7.3)
Despite Chelsea’s main striker Alvaro Morata struggling in front of goal somewhat recently, their defence is in excellent form. Their best defender on FPL this season is Marcos Alonso.
Alonso has managed to earn 131 FPL points already this season. This not only makes him Chelsea’s best defender. But also the best defender on FPL this season. One of the big reasons Alonso is the best defender on FPL this season is due to the goals he scores.
So far this season he has managed six goals and one assist in the league for Chelsea, which is something you do not get with many other defenders. Plus, Chelsea are in excellent form in terms of keeping clean sheets in the league. In their last six games, they have managed to keep five clean sheets. This shows Alonso would be perfect for your FPL side as not only will he keep clean sheets, he will also score you a fair few goals.
Chelsea also play Brighton this week. Given Brighton do not exactly have the biggest goal-scoring threat, you would expect Chelsea to keep another clean sheet this week.
