Everton Seal The Deal For Turkish Sensation: Ecstatic Fans React On Twitter!

Everton have confirmed the signing of Besiktas striker, Cenk Tosun for £27m. This comes as a huge boost for Sam Allardyce who has been looking for a proven goal scorer for quite some time now.

The former English boss has been scouting for possible replacements to take the goal scoring pressure off of Wayne Rooney. With 11 goals to his name this season, Rooney is the leading man in the attacking lineup but might not have the legs to cope with the stress of top-flight English football.

The arrival of Tosun will finally allow the boss to field a set team in the starting XI regularly. The youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin has drawn great praise for his work ethic in the striker role but has yet to prove himself as a finisher. However, he might not be dropped completely to the bench with the arrival of the 26-year-old. He is a versatile attacker and can operate from the wide areas. Sandro Ramirez and Oumar Niasse have failed to mark their place and might make their exits from the Toffees after this season.

Tosun has started the season in prolific form and has scored 14 goals in 24 appearances for the Turkish outfit.

He is widely regarded as the best Turkish striker since the days of Hakan Şükür, who helped his country to third place in the 2002 World Cup but then fell into disgrace over his links with U.S. based preacher Fethullah Gülen, blamed for the 2016 failed coup.

Besiktas club president, Fikret Orman was quoted, “Our interests and the players’ interests are important. Cenk wants to join Everton. We want to do our part and we are working on a replacement.”

“The era of buy, buy, buy is over. This is the era of buy, add value and sell. A final deal has not been reached yet but we have an agreement over the price. The end is near. The transfer will be wrapped up by the weekend.”
