Celtic mustered yet another win in their Scottish Premiership fixture and have strengthened their grip at the top. Brendan Rodgers’ side took the lead through Leigh Griffiths goal and Hibernian had no reply to the same. Here is how we rated Celtic players from their 1-0 win over Neil Lennon’s side at the Celtic Park today.
Craig Gordon 6/10
The custodian made a great save to deny Brandon Barker and looked quite confident in his approach. Unfortunately, he was injured just before the break and was replaced.
Dedryck Boyata 7/10
Boyata looked calm and composed at the back and read the game well to save the blushes of his side.
Jozo Simunovic 7.5/10
The defender took time to settle but once he did, there was no looking back, He made shrewd tackles and interceptions and was comfortable in dealing with the attacks of the Hibs.
Kristoffer Ajer 6.5/10
The youngster looked shaky at times and was troubled by Barker occasionally. Nonetheless, it was not a forgettable day for him at the office as he did show a lot of grit.
Kieran Tierney 8/10
The Scottish international was scrumptious as always down the left. He engineered a stupendous cross that enabled Griffiths to score the goal.
Scott Brown 8.5/10
The engine room of Celtic once again, Brown kept things neat and tidy in the middle of the park, He broke Hibernian’s attacking endeavours more often than not and was a leader on the pitch.
Olivier Ntcham 7.5/10
Ntcham seemed to be industrious and tried to push the game forward with his passes and vision.
James Forrest 6/10
He was good in the first-half but faded in the second. Although he showed some glimpses of class, he needs to do better.
Callum McGregor 6/10
Just like Forrest, it seemed that he had put on a cloak of invisibility in the second-half as he failed to muster substantial outputs in the final third.
Scott Sinclair 7/10
Sinclair was relentless on the left flank as he kept toiling to cause problems to the defensive line of the visiting side.
Leigh Griffiths 6.5/10
The Scottish international scored a goal, which eventually proved to be the winning stroke. He forced Ofir Marciano to make saves but unfortunately, he injured his calf once again and was substituted in the first half.
Substitutes
Moussa Dembele 5/10
Dembele replaced Griffiths but looked really rusty and bereft of confidence. He struggled to make his presence felt.
Dorus De Vries 6.5/10
He replaced Gordon and he fared decently between the sticks, making good distributions and made one or two decent saves.
Eboue Kouassi 6.5/10
Kouassi replaced Forrest in the second-half and injected a lot of freshness. He contributed defensively as well.
