Having managed to stay away from the drop zone for most of the current campaign, English outfit Brighton and Hove Albion are now looking to make sure that they will stay in the top flight for another season. The January transfer window will give them a chance to improve on the options and quality in their squad and manager Chris Hughton has been a busy man this month.
Having already signed the likes of Jurgen Locadia and Warren O’Hara this month, the Seagulls are still looking to add numbers to their squad and one name at the top of their wish list is 19-year old James Justin.
A product of the Luton Town academy, Justin spent a decade at the academy before breaking into the senior side back in 2015. He took his time to adjust to the conditions in the senior side but cemented his place in the side in the previous season, where he made 29 League Two appearances for his parent club.
He has two goals in 11 games this season and is already attracting interests from a number of clubs in the Championship and League On but reports now claim that Brighton and Hove Albion are now leading the race for his signature.
According to reports, Hughton’s side are set to sign the teenage full-back for a price of £1.5m this month. It is reported that Luton have accepted the bid from Brighton, who have been closely monitoring the situation of the youngster for some time now.
With two caps for the English U20 side already, the 19-year old is an exciting defender, who can also play as a part of the midfield. Known for his pace and willingness to add numbers in attack, Justin is an all-around full-back, who can play on either wing. He is an excellent dribbler who can put in some dangerous crosses while his ability to mark players and make interceptions and tackles, makes him all the more dangerous.
At 19, he still has a lot to improve upon and it is understood that Hughton might loan him out to a lower tier club this month, to help him gain some exposure.
The teenager picked up an injury early this season but managed to get back to full fitness quicker than expected. He has a couple of years left on his current contract at Luton but Brighton want to loan him to a club playing in the Championship. But do you think he will be a star in the future for the Seagulls?
