According to Journalist Duncan Castles, Chelsea’s Charly Musonda has drawn interest from Bournemouth for a short-term loan spell till the end of the season. The Blues are ready to part ways with the winger temporarily and Musonda prefers a move to Spain or Germany rather than staying in the Premier League.
Judging by his stint with Real Betis last season, the Belgian might not be so far off in his claims that the La Liga or the Bundesliga will help develop his game better. Musonda was tearing up the league with his vast array of skills from the wide areas. Unfortunately, his run of form was cut short by a knee injury and the 21-year-old returned to Stamford Bridge last January to feature for the U23 side.
Having played his early years for RSC Anderlecht, the Chelsea scouts were mesmerized by the teenager’s technical abilities and did not waste any time to bring him to London.
Conte was quoted, “We’re talking about a young player with really good prospects. “Now it’s important that he’s working very well. In my mind, he could play like No.10 or like a winger and in the future, he could play also as a wing-back.” Spoken by the man himself – you can get a picture of what Musonda is best at. However, with just 664 minutes under his belt this season, the Belgian starlet is growing more and more frustrated as the days progress.
Conte wanted to keep the winger as a backup option to Eden Hazard and Willian but with the duo still favoured as first team regulars, maybe Musonda is better off playing for a different club. Bournemouth is not the ideal destination especially when the side already has Jordon Ibe and Ryan Fraser but with the Cherries just three points off the relegation zone maybe the Belgian will be able to carve out a sporadic role.
Bournemouth are coming off a 1-1 draw against West Ham last weekend and have somehow managed to break away a small lead from the bottom three. Eddie Howe is currently having a hard time rotating the squad around the plethora of strikers.
Even though Fraser has been a bright attacking spark, the left wing could do with a bit of pace – exactly what Musonda can provide. Howe should not waste the opportunity to bring in Musonda into signing with the Cherries, especially multiple sides are already sniffing around for his signature.
