Alexis Sanchez’s imminent departure to Manchester United has forced Arsenal to hunt the transfer market for a proper replacement in the January transfer window.
While the Gunners looked pretty keen on signing Borussia Dortmund superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to latest reports, AC Milan’s Andre Silva has been identified as the perfect alternative should the Aubameyang deal collapse.
The Portuguese sensation has raised quite a lot of eyebrows this season, thanks to his blistering performances for club and country. Spanish giants, FC Barcelona scouted the player, earlier this season and Silva could be on his way out of San Siro should any reasonable offer comes in for the Portuguese International.
Andre Silva could be an ideal addition to an Arsenal side suffering due to their lack of quality offensive players. The expected departures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will surely decimate their attacking department, meaning the Gunners are in dire need of someone who can add some much-needed creativity in the final third.
Andre Silva is someone who can perfectly fit into Arsenal’s gameplay under Arsene Wenger. Even though the 22-year-old has failed to score a goal in the Serie A this season, Silva’s overall gameplay in the final third will make him an excellent partner of lethal striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman has already hit the ground running, after moving in from Lyon last summer. However, he will definitely lack attacking support with players like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil reportedly on the verge of leaving the Emirates and that’s where Andre Silva comes in.
His pace coupled with his technical abilities as a striker is what makes him a unique composition as a final third. Furthermore, his tenacity and willingness to create opportunities for his team will surely be useful for an Arsenal team, who are on the verge of a mass exodus in the January transfer window.
The Portuguese youngster has also chipped in 11 goals in just 18 caps for the Portuguese National Team whilst scoring six goals in six matches in the UEFA Europa League.
Made no mistake, Arsenal are definitely in need of someone like Andre Silva, whose addition to the side will allow Arsenal to be more fluid in the attacking third while his attacking partnership with Alexandre Lacazette will be something to keep an eye on. It will be interesting to see how his transfer saga takes shape in the coming weeks.
