Liverpool will travel to Yorkshire to take on Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Tuesday night at the back of two disappointing defeats at the hands of Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion respectively. The Reds have fallen from the highs of defeating the league leaders Manchester City and breaking their domestic unbeaten streak to succumbing to two bitter losses against the Premier League minnows. Jurgen Klopp has a major task of picking up his players in their quest to earn a crucial victory at the John Smith’s Stadium versus the Terriers which is being managed by his close friend David Wagner.
Nothing less than a victory would suffice if the Reds are to keep some distance between themselves and their top 4 chasing rivals, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal who are just three and five points behind them in the league table respectively.
The recent history of the fixture makes grim reading for Huddersfield fans as the Yorkshire outfit has not tasted victory in any of their 11 previous meetings versus the Merseyside club. Klopp is expected to make some changes for this clash and might bench some of his stars in an attempt to get the best out of them in the near future.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Huddersfield Town
Defence
Loris Karius will resume his duties in goal in place of Simon Mignolet and might be shielded by a backline of Virgil Van Dijk and Ragnar Klavan in central defence while Andrew Robertson starts in the left-back position and Joe Gomez takes his place on the right-hand side of the defence.
The Reds defence has kept a clean sheet in each of their last six meetings with the Terriers and Klopp will be hoping that his defenders can keep things tight at the back on Tuesday night as well.
Midfield
The trio of James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be unleashed at the centre of the park and the performance of these players will be integral if Liverpool are to break down the Terriers defence at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Lallana is still making his way back to full fitness and could be available for a place on the bench for this clash versus David Wagner’s side.
Attack
The front three would consist of Roberto Firmino on the left flank, Mohamed Salah looking to cause some damage on the right side while Danny Ings might be given a rare start up top. Klopp might rest Sadio Mane for this contest after the speedster failed to impress in recent matches.
