Andre Ayew of West Ham United has been linked with a move to Turkish club Galatasaray. The Ghanaian earned his name at Swansea City after scoring 12 goals and setting up 5 assists in 35 games was scooped up by West Ham in 2016. However, his time in London has been slightly more difficult given the plethora of attacking options at the London stadium.
With Ayew now set to leave, here are three options for David Moyes to look at to replace the attacking player.
Nicolas Gaitan
Gaitan, who made the move to Atletico last summer is reportedly frustrated at his lack of game time at the Spanish capital and is ready to swap teams in favour of more time on the pitch. In his one and a half year at the club, he has been unable to break into the first team let alone cement his spot.
Given the fact that another attacker in the form of Diego Costa has returned to action this January for Atletico Madrid, the situation for Gaitan might become even direr leaving West Ham with a window of opportunity to snap up the player.
David Neres
The highly rated 20-year old player from South America has brilliantly adapted to Dutch football. Neres is incredibly light on his feet and has good enough ball control to cause any defence problems on his night.
The winger has been in blazing form this season and has already scored 9 goals and recorded 12 assists in 22 games and West Ham could look to him as a player for many years if the club is serious about adding quality to their side.
Andre Schurrle
Schurrle has fallen out of favour at Borussia Dortmund having received very little game time so far this season. Spending majority of the season on the sidelines with injury, the former Chelsea player has failed to find his feet at the Westfalenstadion and has fallen way below the pecking order.
Schurrle’s stint with the Blues ended in the summer of 2015 when the Ludwigshafen-born winger, moved to Wolfsburg for £24m. After an impressive 13 goals netted in 63 appearances, he moved to Dortmund for an undisclosed fee on 22 July 2016.
Dortmund has a spree of young talent in the form of Christian Pulisic, Alexander Isak and Maximilian Philipp. With Marco Reus and Mario Gotze nearing a return for the time, they might not be able to guarantee a starting spot for Schurrle for the remainder of the season making West Ham a possible destination for him.
