Ligue 1 side, FC Girondins de Bordeaux have reportedly rejected a £30.8m bid from Tottenham Hotspur for their star winger, Malcolm. The 20-year-old is currently enjoying his best season with 7 goals and 5 assists in 20 appearances.
Drawing the attention of many elite clubs, Malcolm has displayed his abilities to break down opposition defences from the wide areas. The Brazilian’s breathtaking skills along with his pace easily make him one of the best European talents.
Mauricio Pellegrino is currently on the lookout for a winger he can add to the current Tottenham squad. Competing for multiple domestic honours along with the Champions League have exposed the lack of depth in the Spurs squad this season.
They have impressed so far in Europe beating defending champions, Real Madrid to the top spot of the group stages but still have a long way to go.
The attacking lineup of Harry Kane and Dele Alli is crying out for a wide man to deliver appetizing balls into the box. Malcolm could have been the perfect addition to the team going forward, however with his bid already rejected here are a few player Tottenham can approach in the coming weeks.
Leon Bailey
Bailey has been on a brilliant run of form for the German side with 8 goals and 4 assists in 16 appearances this season.
He has already been linked to multiple Premier League clubs for a price tag ranging from £22m – £30m. Pochettino can swoop in with a higher bid and fend off the interests of Arsenal and Manchester United who are also pursuing Malcolm.
Wilfried Zaha
The Ivorian international has been lighting the league up this season for Crystal Palace with 4 goals in 15 appearances. He is the best attacking threat for the Eagles and is almost unstoppable from the wide areas.
Zaha’s previous stint with Manchester United ruled him off as a bust for elite clubs by many fans and pundits. However judging by the past couple of seasons, the 25-year-old has resurrected his career and deserves a call-up from one of the title contenders.
Lucas Moura
The Brazilian winger has fallen out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain after the arrival of Angel Di Maria, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. With less than 90 minutes of game time under his wing this season, Lucas is an expensive commodity in the books of the French outfit.
Manchester United have already been reported to be a likely destination for the 25-year-old, but Tottenham can make a swoop if the Red Devils end up with Gareth Bale.
