Arsenal’s transfer pursuit for out of favour Paris Saint-Germain winger, Lucas hit a huge blow after the Brazilian expressed his interest in playing for a Spanish outfit.
“I believe I’d be well suited to LaLiga, with my speed and my technique.I think I could perform well there but the truth is it does not matter where I play as I know I am capable and will work hard. I am not disgusted at not being able to play more here and cannot express myself, things have changed this weekend and I’m not happy.”
Lucas is being considered as a backup option if the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer does come to a halt. Negotiations between Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have stalled over the transfer fee with the German outfit reported to be asking for £60m.
Sanchez’s departure will hurt the club’s offence and Wenger somehow will have to sign a marquee player as a replacement by the end of the January window. He should consider the following options:
Cristian Pavon
Pavon is one of the hottest properties in Argentina right now. He plies his trade for Boca Juniors, a team with a history of producing great players. A supremely confident player on the ball, Pavon can appear from either of the wings or even in the lone striker role.
The 22-year-old has admitted that his future lies away from the Argentinian league and a move away to the Premier League is more than likely. He has been linked with a move to many major clubs in Europe including interests from Arsenal.
Christian Pulisic
Liverpool have already been linked with the Borussia Dortmund youngster and are expected to place a bid upward of £100m, but Arsenal can swoop in with a better offer. Pulisic is still just 19-years-old and is already a first team regular in the USA national team. Blessed with blinding pace of the wings, the Pennsylvania-born attacker is a prolific talent and currently displaying promises of future stardom.
Primarily a winger by trade, Pulisic does possess the technical ability and vision to take up a more creative role judging by his performances for the German outfit after the departure of Ousmane Dembele last summer. Acquiring his services at such a young age will only allow the American to further his career by developing into the English game.
Richarlison
Richarlison’s impact for the Hornets has been significant as they are currently sitting in the 10th spot of the Premier League table. The Brazilian has hit the ground running ever since his arrival to Vicarage Road in the summer of 2017.
He has been a regular starter for the Hornets this season with 25 appearances and 5 goals under his belt already under Marco Silva.
