Newcastle United forward Yasin Ben El-Mhanni is set to depart the club this month with a whole host of clubs lining up to secure his signature. According to recent reports, the Magpies wide man could leave the club on a cut-price deal in this January transfer window with Fenerbahce, Wolves and Brighton & Hove Albion all looking to land his signature. The Tyneside outfit are currently carrying out an investigation as their club legend and Under-23s manager Peter Beardsley has been accused by El-Mhanni and supported by five team-mates in written submissions on racial and bullying allegations.
However, Beardsley has denied their claims which are being investigated by managing director Lee Charnley and head of safeguarding Steve Swinyard.
Amidst so much controversy, Yasin Ben El-Mhanni could look to follow suit of fellow team-mate Lewis Gibson and leave Newcastle in the near future. His current contract with the Magpies is up at the end of the season with only six months left to run on his deal. The 22-year-old is free to talk to clubs about a possible move in the summer or the Magpies can choose to ship him out in January on a cut-price deal rather than lose him for free in June.
With Yasin Ben El-Mhanni all set to bid farewell to the Toon Army, let’s take a look at three potential destinations for him to consider in the near future.
Fenerbahce
The Turkish club could look to provide him with an escape route out of England where he can flourish under manager Aykut Kocaman. They are currently third in the Turkish league standings, just three points behind Istanbul Basaksehir. The addition of Ben El-Mhanni could help them bridge the gap and secure another league title to their name.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
The Wolves are currently leading the English Championship by nine points and could take a chance on the Newcastle United outcast who has struggled to secure first-team football at Tyneside. They have enough firepower but could use El-Mhanni’s talents to bolster their attacking options ahead of an exciting second half of their campaign. If he proves his worth, the winger could definitely be given a chance to showcase his skills in the Premier League next season if the Wolves can lure him to the Molineux Stadium.
Brighton & Hove Albion
The Seagulls are sitting in 16th place in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone. Chris Hughton could look to take a chance on the winger and give him some game time at the Amex Stadium in an effort to rescue Brighton in the second half of the campaign and ensure Premier League survival for another season.
