Everton forward Sandro Ramirez has been linked with a move to Spanish side Valencia in January. The Spanish forward completed his switch to Everton this summer for a reported fee of around £5 million. He has since endured a tough time in the league. In his initial five appearances, two of which has come as substitutes, Sandro has been unable to find the back of the net even once. It now appears that he is ready to move away after scoring only twice in 13 games.
Everton and Valencia are experiencing two very different starts to the 2017-18 season. Valencia finished 12th in the league last season, something way below the expected standards of a club who are always in and around the European qualification zone and even won the title back in the 2003-04 season.
Despite having a good squad the club was unable to get its act together and managed to scramble through a struggling season and finished outside the top 10. However, it seems that the performance last season was nothing but a small blimp and the club is back to its winning ways this season. They have performed extremely well in the league so far and have effectively banished the ghost of last season’s blues.
They are off to a flying start in La Liga and are currently second in the table behind leaders Barcelona. They have won eight of their eleven matches and have already collected 27 points from a possible 33. With just four points separating them from Barcelona, there is talk beginning of a possible title charge. They have been deadly when going forward, scoring 30 goals in their eleven league outings.
The measure of this achievement can be effectively perceived when we look at the fact that in the same eleven games Barcelona has also scored 30 goals while Real Madrid are far behind on 22 goals.
As for Everton, the situation is worsening by the day. The club spent a fortune in the summer and was expected to fight for a spot in the top 6. A disastrous run of results left the club in the relegation zone as recently as two weeks back. They are still suffering down in the 13th position and the club will soon have to hold their players accountable for the miserable performances this season.
It appears now that Valencia are ready to offer Sandro a chance to leave the struggling Merseyside club a return to Spain where he made his name. It will no doubt prove to be a chance to move away from the trouble brewing at Everton and hence it will be interesting to see if the 22-year old chooses to return to Spain after failing in England or digs in deep and challenges himself to succeed at Everton.
