Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a surprise move for Real Madrid midfielder, Dani Ceballos, after missing out on him in the summer. Some sources have already claimed that the North London duo of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are ready to pounce along with AS Roma if the Los Blancos are willing to do business in January.
The Madrid club secured his services from right under the noses of the Spurs and the Gunners in the summer when they agreed to a £17.5m to land the promising midfielder from Real Betis. However, the Spanish international has struggled to get into the first-team since then and has started in just 2 La Liga matches so far this season.
It is being speculated that both Arsenal and Spurs are closely monitoring the situation of the 21-year-old Real Madrid midfielder and could rekindle their interest in the talented youngster when the transfer window opens in January. However, AS Roma has emerged as front-runners for his signature with reports stating that the Italians are a step ahead of the chasing pack and are already preparing an offer for the Spaniard. I Giallorossi’s sporting director, Monchi is a huge admirer of the midfielder and wants to bring him in to add depth to their squad.
Dani Ceballos is desperate to secure first-team football as he wants to book his spot in the Spanish national squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The midfielder could be set for a January move either temporarily or permanently with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and AS Roma willing to provide the youngster with regular game-time. The Spaniard has just appeared in 11 matches for Real Madrid this season but most of them have come from the bench. He has still managed to score two goals for the Los Blancos justifying his immense potential.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur has recently fallen off the grid in the Premier League with Christian Eriksen going through a slight dip in form. The Spurs require a midfielder who can provide a spark in their squad and the Spaniard might just be the ideal candidate to do so.
He will definitely add a goal-threat from the midfield and will link up well with the talented Spurs group which include the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen. It remains to be seen whether Mauricio Pochettino can fend off interest from AS Roma and Arsenal in the race for his signature.
