Real Madrid are reportedly looking to recall Vinicius Junior from Brazil at the first possible opportunity next summer. They initially agreed to let him stay at Flamengo to develop and get some more first-team experience, but recent reports are claiming that the Galacticos are ready to call him back to Spain at the earliest opportunity in the summer of 2018.
The Madrid club secured his services in May as part of a big money move when he was just 16-years-old. However, international transfer laws state that Real Madrid cannot use his services until he is 18 years of age. With the 2017 Brazilian top-flight season almost at its end, there’s an option for Flamengo to keep him until January 2019 but the Los Blancos are now adamant to call him back as soon as possible. The Brazilian starlet was born on July 12, 2000, and turns 18 on July 12, 2018.
Some reports are stating that Real Madrid have been impressed by the youngster’s ability, confidence, and personality. Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane is desperate to make new signings to improve his squad but may have to settle for the Brazilian youngster by giving him a run out in the Real Madrid first-team next season.
Some sources say that the Real Madrid manager is looking forward to welcoming Vinicius in the summer and will slowly try to integrate the him in the Los Blancos’ first-team in a similar way like he did with Dani Ceballos. It will ensure that the 16-year-old Brazilian gets valuable experience with the Galacticos’ starting eleven while also being carefully managed and protected from the media.
The Madrid club signed the starlet from Flamengo in a deal worth around €45m which has made him one of the most expensive signings in Los Blancos’ history. The deal surprised a lot of people with Real Madrid signing the youngster just 10 days after he made his first-team debut with Flamengo.
Vinicius Junior has made 29 appearances for the Flamengo senior team this season and has scored 4 goals and bagged one assist so far. The 17-year-old has also represented Brazil at the Under-15 and Under-17 level where he has scored 18 goals in 21 international matches.
Real Madrid has struggled to find the back of the net in La Liga this season. They have just managed to score 25 goals in 14 matches. Compared to their high standards from the last few seasons, it’s a stat that might concern some Madrid fans. It remains to be seen how Zinedine Zidane incorporates Vinicius Junior into his squad next season but the starlet will have high expectations upon his arrival in Madrid.
