FC Bayern Munich will travel to Frankfurt this weekend as they look to continue their impressive record under new coach Jupp Heynckes. The Bavarians are on the back of an excellent 3:1 win over PSG and will be full of confidence going into this game.
The German giants are leading the Bundesliga table by six points at the moment. However, a minor slip up could see second-placed RB Leipzig breathing down their neck. Furthermore, the Bavarians have a difficult string of fixtures coming up this month, including the DFB Pokal thriller against Borussia Dortmund and a Bundesliga clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
The highly disciplined Eintracht Frankfurt, masterminded by former Bayern player Niko Kovac, has proved to be a trouble for Bayern in the past and coach Jupp Heynckes will be aware of their defensive solidity going into this game. Therefore, the German league leaders need to make a strong push in order to prevail against the Eagles this weekend.
Here’s the predicted Bayern Munich lineup to feature against Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend.
Defence
Sven Ulreich will be the man between the sticks for FC Bayern. The former Stuttgart keeper has kept just one clean sheet in his last seven games all competitions and will be hoping for an improved performance against the Eagles.
Youngster Niklas Sule could partner Mats Hummels in the central defence. The former Hoffenheim player continues his impressive debut season at the Allianz Arena with some staggering performances this season.
Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba are expected to be deployed as fullbacks by head coach Jupp Heynckes. Both the players have been super impressive in terms of their performances this season and they will once again play a crucial role this weekend against Eintracht.
Midfield
The absence of Thiago Alcantara is hardly noticeable thanks to the exceptional performances from Sebastian Rudy, Arturo Vidal and Javi Martinez.
Sebastian Rudy started the midweek game against PSG but will likely be rested for the Eintracht match. Therefore, Javi Martinez will be given a starting berth alongside Chilean International Arturo Vidal.
Attack
Bayern will be missing out on the services of Dutch superstar Arjen Robben. The former Real Madrid winger is currently out injured with a muscle fibre.
Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman are expected to be deployed as wingers while James Rodriguez will operate as the central attacking midfielder for FC Bayern. All of these players are in exceptional form, of late and stopping them would be imperative for Eintracht Frankfurt.
Polish International Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for Bayern.
