Newcastle United’s woeful form has left Rafa Benitez devastated and the Spanish manager will be eyeing some outright transfers once the transfer market opens in January.
Owner Mike Ashley failed to fulfil the promise as the owner backed out from spending more funds in the summer and Benitez had to be satisfied with very limited resources at his disposal.
But in this upcoming transfer window, Benitez would like to have a clearer vision come what may. The manager has gone frustrated over the limited activity in the transfer market and if things continue like this the Magpies are going to be circling around the relegation zone.
Newcastle have been linked with Vitesse Arnhem’s Milot Rashica. The pacey winger has triggered interest in Benitez’s mind and he could be one of the new arrivals in January.
Their miserable run continues as they continued their struggle with a 3-2 loss at the hand of Leicester City. This was the seventh consecutive occasion when they failed to muster three points in this season.
The ongoing takeover talks also could reflect the transfer business. Amanda Staveley is on the frontline to be the next potential owner and she already has an offer of £250m on the table for Magpies owner Ashley.
But the offer is believed to be much lesser than the expected £400m and a number of other investors have entered the fray so Ashley is waiting to get the best possible deal for him.
If Ashley stays on the books he needs to shell out funds in a bid to keep things under control. So if he is to leave the ownership he needs to wrap up things very quickly otherwise it will be very late for him.
Rashica mainly made his name as a right winger but he is also capable of playing on the left. Newcastle have some promising wide men with the likes of Rolando Aarons and Jacob Murphy who are yet to be properly tested by the gaffer so a move for Rashica could jeopardize their Newcastle career.
Thee 21 year old featured for Albania at various youth levels but switched his allegiance to Kosovo in 2016. In 13 games he has racked up three goals and two assists so he could provide the momentum that Benitez has been craving for.
A fee in the range of £4m should be enough to tempt the Dutch club in selling their prized possession to the Magpies.
