Manchester City Players Rated And Slated In 2-1 Win Vs Manchester United: Ederson Gets 8/10

Pep Guardiola’s Citizens have been on a monstrous run in the Premier League winning 13 on a trot but their most serious challenge was to come against their neighbours Manchester United who’ve been on a form of their own. However, two defensive falters from United were enough for David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi to pounce upon and score while Rashford’s goal acted only as a consolation. City have set a new record for continuous wins and here’s how they’ve been rated after a massive victory:-

Manchester City Players Rated And Slated

GK: Ederson – 8/10

Looked sublime today and he made a name for himself in front of the world. A great save to deny Rashford and a double save from the efforts of Lukaku and Mata from a close range was was simply brilliant. Top notch goal-keeping!

RB: Kyle Walker – 5/10

A silent game on the right and couldn’t influence the proceedings much.

CB: Vincent Kompany – 6/10

Kept a firm grip on Lukaku, he was tight and tidy and did a good job until he was subbed off.

CB: Nicolas Otamendi – 7/10

Kept Lingard in check and he was really decisive today on a lot of occasions and fared well. His goal won the game for City.

LB: Fabian Delph – 5/10

Committed a lot of fouls and wasn’t involved in the game a lot. Mediocre and his defensive error lead to Rashford’s goal.

CDM: Fernandinho – 7.5/10

It’s amazing as to how efficient he has become under Guardiola and how silently but yet so nicely he gets the job done. His aerial balls and versatility contributed a lot in the middle for city today and defensively too he was sound when he needed to be.

CM: David Silva – 8/10

Probed United as much as he could and got a goal after he was alert during the corner. Where would city be without him?

CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 7/10

Not as effective as he would have liked it to be but he was neat and effective in his passing and swiftness. He forced De Gea into making a good save from his effort too.

CF: Raheem Sterling – 6/10

Had a nice first half with him getting a good amount of space on occasions to move around but he grew silent after the half.

LF: Gabriel Jesus – 5.5/10

Didn’t get booked for a horrendous dive and he was average.

FW: Leroy Sane – 6/10

Kept in check by Young or Valencia throughout the game but he was effective in retaining possession and passing it around.

Substitutes :-

CB: Eliaquim Mangala – 6/10

Injected a bit of freshness in city’s defence and he did enough to see out the game.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 5.5/10

Slotted in comfortably into midfield and he was okay.

FW: Bernardo Silva – N/A

Came on late and can’t be rated.
