Rangers attacker, Josh Windass, has been one of the players of the Glasgow based club who has been quite impressive so far this season. Windass, in a total of 16 appearances in the Scottish Premiership, has smashed 5 goals and has been a reliable player for the Gers. Particularly of late, his form and confidence has been top notch as he has seemingly appeared to be a player who has been redeeming his calibre week in and week out.
After their 2-1 win over Ross County last weekend, the Light Blues find themselves at the 2nd spot in the league table with 33 points to their name from 17 games. Intriguingly, Windass scored 4 goals in his last 7 appearances and has proved to be an instrumental figure. With the January transfer window approaching, clubs are expected to be keen to strengthen their arsenal and as per one of the latest reports by Football Insider, Wigan Athletic are perceived to be keen to sign Windass.
The Latics are placed at the top of League One table and their apparent interest to prise Windass out of the Ibrox Stadium makes perfect sense, for Paul Cook does need some quality additions to continue the positive momentum created by his troops in order to pave their way to the Championship. However, it would be an absolute shocker if Rangers actually sanction the sale as the 23-year-old can play a huge part in dictating the productivity of his current club this season.
Having emerged through the youth ranks of Huddersfield Town, Windass made a mark for himself whilst plying his trade for Accrington Stanley. In the summer of 2016, he was signed by the Teddy Bears and although he took time to settle, the patience that the club showed towards him is finally yielding dividends. Ever since the start of the new campaign, he has continued to progress, be it under the tutelage of former manager, Pedro Caixinha, or current caretaker manager, Graeme Murty.
The Hull-born attacking midfielder offers dynamism and power and is a genuine goal threat for the opposition. He reads the game well and has embraced the demands of the Scottish top division. He is someone who toils relentless, picks up the right passes and launches forward every time situation permits him to. After such a notable and significant progress, it would not be wise from Rangers if they strike him off their books in the near future.
