Hull City are lining themselves up alongside a host of clubs to sign Kilmarnock winger, Jordan Jones. The 23-year-old has fallen on the radar of many clubs with an impressive display in the Scottish Premiership this season.
He has netted the ball 3 times in 34 appearances across all competitions and have established himself as a fan favourite over the past 18 months.
The Northern Ireland international was disheartened to hear that Middlesbrough were not gonna extend his contract after it ran out in the summer of 2016. Hardly appearing for the side at all, Jones spent two of his seasons for the club out on loan to Hartlepool United and Cambridge United in the 2015/16 season.
Uncertain and scared over his future, Jones has used it to fuel his career going forward and so far has shone for the Scottish outfit.
The Middlesbrough-born midfielder attributed his rise to the hardships he has faced in the past and the amount he has grown over time which reflects directly in his game. Blessed with scintillating pace on the wings and quick feet to dribble past defenders, Jones’ is the ideal picture you can paint of a winger.
Hull City’s resurgence from relegation last season has so far been disappointing in their current campaign with the club festering in the 19th spot of the EFL Championship. Multiple managers have stepped down from their posts in the last couple of years and it is starting to wear out the fans as well.
A few quality additions to the current squad might be exactly what the Tigers need right now to jumpstart their second half of the season.
Kamil Grosicki and Jarrod Bowen are the only two recognised wingers at the club and both are likely to be of interest to top-flight clubs this January. Grosicki have been impressive so far into the season with 6 goals and 4 assists.
With Jon-Miquel Toral yet to start his scoring tally for the season, Jones can be fielded on the right of the 4-2-3-1 formation that Nigel Adkins likes to implement and help the final third with better deliveries from the wings.
The arrival of Jones and Hakeeb Adelakun might finally answer Adkins problems in the wide areas and make the transition easier if either Grosicki or Bowen does end up leaving.
Burnley, Rangers and Norwich City have also been linked to the Englishman and so Hull City might have to get into a gruelling battle in order to land his services come January.
