The first FPL GW of 2018 kicks off on the 1st of January with Brighton facing Bournemouth in the early kickoff. So, your transfers need to be made by 11:30 UK time on the 1st of January. There are then three 3 pm kickoffs on the 1st. These are Burnley vs Liverpool, Leicester vs Huddersfield and Stoke vs Newcastle. The late kickoff on the 1st is Everton vs Manchester United.
GW 22 then continues into the 2nd of January with several night games. These are Swansea vs Spurs, West Ham vs West Brom and Manchester City vs Watford. There is then one game on the 3rd as Arsenal and Chelsea square off. Spurs and West Ham then have their second games of GW 22 as they face off on the final day of the game week.
Here are three players you should sign this week.
Harry Kane (12.9)
Spurs did not have a game in GW 21. So, this week they have two in one game week. Therefore, you need at least one Spurs player in your team this week. The obvious and best choice is Harry Kane.
Kane has already scored 18 goals and earned one assist in the league for Spurs this season. This makes him the top scorer in the Premier League. It also makes him the top forward on FPL with 131 points.
The Spurs man is also in excellent form as he has scored back to back hattricks in his last two league games which is a very impressive achievement. Plus, Spurs first game this week is against Swansea. While they did pick up a win in their last game vs a poor Watford side, Swansea are still struggling. They are 19th in the league and have won just four all season. So, when Kane plays against their defence in the form he is in, it’s very likely he could bag another hattrick.
Raheem Sterling (8.8)
Manchester City are at home to Watford this game week. As already mentioned Watford are really struggling lately. They have lost four of their last five games and are slowly slipping down the table.
So, when City face them in the form they are on, it could well end up five or six nil to City. Therefore, you want a City player in your side. The man you should pick this week is Raheem Sterling.
Sterling is having his best season ever for City. He has scored 13 and assisted seven already in the league. This puts him to second on the FPL leaderboard, only behind Salah. He also costs just 8.8 which is fantastic for the number of points he gets you.
Jamie Vardy (8.6)
If you want a relatively cheap striker who will do quite well for you, look no further than Jamie Vardy. Vardy is having a solid season for Leicester. He has bagged nine goals and two assists already this season including one in his last game vs Liverpool.
He is also 5th on the FPL leaderboard which is very good for the price you pay for him. Furthermore, Leicester are at home to Huddersfield this week. Huddersfield have drawn their last three games. But they are not in great form and a team such as Leicester is likely to be able to break them down at home. And given that he has nine already this season; Vardy is likely to be amongst the goals.
While some people may question Vardy’s inclusion given Leicester’s poor form, he is still scoring goals even though The Foxes are losing games. As illustrated by their last game when they lost to Liverpool but Vardy still scored.
