Fantasy Premier League is back to its usual dates this game week as Leicester and Crystal Palace kick off game week 18 on Saturday at 12:30 UK time. So, make sure all your transfers are done by 11:30 UK time.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Arsenal host Newcastle United, Brighton vs Burnley, Chelsea take on Southampton, Stoke vs West Ham, Huddersfield travel to Watford and Man City and Spurs are the late kickoff.
As for Sunday, there are two FPL games. West Brom vs Manchester United is the early kickoff and Bournemouth vs Liverpool is the late kickoff. The final game of GW18 takes place on Monday night with Everton taking on Swansea City. Here are three players you should sign this week.
Wayne Rooney (7.4)
Despite a very poor start to the season, Everton are finally starting to improve their form. They have not lost in their last four league games. And earlier this week they saw off Newcastle at St James’ Park. Also, in the game before that, they managed to hold free-scoring Liverpool to a 1-1. Which shows how far they have come since earlier this season when their defence was woeful.
One man who has continued to stand out for Everton this season and one man you should sign for your FPL side is Wayne Rooney. Despite coming under some criticism this season Rooney has arguably been Everton’s best player. He has scored an impressive nine goals in the league already this season. That is the same amount as the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata. And more than players such as Gabriel Jesus and Alexandre Lacazette.
Rooney’s excellent goalscoring form has moved him up to 5th on the FPL striker leaderboard. While that doesn’t seem like the greatest, when you consider he costs just 7.4, 5th is excellent. Especially when the only people above him cost a considerable amount more.
Also, Everton are at home to Swansea City this game week. Swansea are at the dead bottom of the Premier League and given how much Everton are improving in recent weeks, they should have no problem beating the Welsh side comfortably.
Nacho Monreal (5.7)
Despite Arsenal not having the best season in the Premier League, currently sat in 7th place in the league. They still have a couple of players who you would benefit from having in your FPL team.
One of which is Spanish defender Nacho Monreal. Monreal isn’t the most expensive defender on FPL at just 5.7. But even though he won’t cost you the world, he will still get you a fair few points.
So far, this season he has kept eight clean sheets and scored two goals in the league for Arsenal. A solid record for any defender. This record has also seen Monreal move up to 4th place on the defender leaderboard. And much like with Rooney, the only people above him will cost you more.
Arsenal are also at home to a struggling Newcastle side this week. The North East side have lost four and drew one of their last five games which has seen them slip down the table to 16th, just one point above the relegation zone. Therefore, it is extremely likely that Arsenal and Monreal will keep a clean sheet this weekend for you in FPL.
Antonio Valencia (6.8)
The final player you should sign this week is Antonio Valencia. He is currently the most expensive defender on FPL. However, for that price, he will do very well for you. He is currently sat top of the defender FPL leaderboard with 87 points.
The Manchester United defender has also earned 10 clean sheets and scored two goals already this season. Plus, United themselves have the joint best defence in the league this season conceding just 11 goals in 17. So, Valencia looks like he would certainly be a good long-term investment for your FPL side.
Moreover, United play West Brom this week. West Brom have had a horrid start to the season and despite sacking Tony Pulis, their form has not improved under their new boss Alan Pardew. This has left West Brom just above the relegation zone on goal difference meaning that it is very unlikely the Baggies are going to get anything from United this week.
