Leicester City youth team striker, Josh Eppiah has started to attract attention from Everton and a host of Premier League sides. The 19-year-old’s development in the u-23 Leceister team has been nothing short of remarkable as seen from his winning goal against Everton in their recent Premier League cup clash.
Eppiah’s talents have clearly bound a spell on Everton first-team coach, Craig Shakespeare from his time with the Foxes. As Leicester manager, Shakespeare often included Eppiah in first-team training sessions. He is convinced that the Belgian will be a good fit for the Toffees and he will have a personal hand in the further development of the forward.
Sam Allardyce is keen on improving the Everton squad and is reported to be on the lookout for more attacking options to take the pressure of the club’s leading goal scorer, Wayne Rooney. While he may be considering proven talents for the role, Allardyce will be relying on the inputs of his support staff. Maybe the burning ambitions of the teenage sensation will follow in the footsteps of their former striker, Romelu Lukaku.
West Ham, Stoke City and Bournemouth have all joined in the race of monitoring the progress of Eppiah, with Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig and Championship clubs, Wolves and Leeds United also alerted. Leicester City are pleased with the progress of the Belgian and would hate to lose him to the respective clubs.
Leipzig are known to be notorious candidates for picking out young talents from Europe and integrating them into the first team. With an average age of only 22, they are always on the lookout for optimistic prospects. The hint of new blood very rarely escape the eyes and ears of their scouts all over Europe and the German side would not shy away from making a convincing deal to the 19-year-old.
Every rising talent very soon faces a plethora of offers just like that in the case of Josh Eppiah. His progress has been monumental and he will be eagerly waiting for his deserved chance to shine for the Leicester City first team. If the foxes refuse to promote him just yet, he might consider other teams where he can make his senior debut with.
Leicester City are well aware of the striker’s growing popularity among club scouts and will have to soon start fending off possible transfer talks while keeping Eppiah happy at the club. He has so far appeared in 8 Premier League 2 outings for the club and 4 EFL Trophy matches, registering 2 assists to his name.
