This January transfer window is going to be a huge one for Antonio Conte as the Italian manager would try to bring some of the players he failed to lure back in summer.
According to reports, Conte is eyeing a deal for Juventus defender Alex Sandro. The left-back has remained a prime target for Conte and the gaffer would go all out to bring the defender to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea saw their effort vandalized as Juventus held firm on the Brazilian but Conte is pretty confident of reaching a deal in January. The Blues had a pretty shaky start to their season but have made their way to the third position in the league and Conte believes they need to dig deep in transfers to chase down Manchester United and Manchester City, the top two teams in the Premier League table so far.
Fernando Alonso is the only left back available at Conte’s disposal and the Italian boss wants to introduce some fierce competition for the Spaniard. Conte has urged the club board to spend with their heart out in January and they are likely to sanction a big money move for Sandro.
David Luiz has been frozen out by Conte as the Brazilian international wasn’t in the squad against Manchester United. He was then subsequently dropped against West Brom and Liverpool and it is quite clear he is not on the good books of the manager.
With Real Madrid chasing the defender Conte might allow the player to move in a bid to bring more funds to speed up the move of Sandro. Juventus would not entertain any offer below than £60m and Conte is ready to spend that much.
Sandro will bring some quality on the left flank as he will offer both offensive and defensive attributes to the team. In modern day football wing-back has the permission to bomb forward but they need to be equally adept at defending.
Juventus have already identified their potential replacement if Sandro leaves the club eventually and they are reportedly ready to make an attempt to bring Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid.
The defender who also used to play for Chelsea has been pretty impressive lately and the Italian club are tracking the 32-year-old.
Juventus are struggling badly in the Serie-A this season and Chelsea could take the advantage as it would be pretty easier for Sandro to make the move.
