Brighton and Hove Albion are currently in a decent position, in their very first season in the Premier League. Having won only four of their 18 fixtures so far this season while losing eight, the Seagulls are standing on the 13th spot in the league table, halfway through the season.
However, having gathered just 18 points from 18 matches this season so far, the newly promoted club have not been able to get a firm grip on the proceedings since the start of the term. Having dropped points on a number of occasions and facing demoralising defeats, the Seagulls are now in the hunt for players who can help them lodge a fightback and give them a chance to stay back in the top flight.
One such player, who has been on the radar of the Brighton boss, Chris Hughton, for sometimes now, is the Liverpool outcast Marko Grujic. The player has been very seldom used in the last couple of seasons by current manager Jurgen Klopp, who doesn’t seem to have very high hopes regarding the Serbian youngster and might be happy to let him leave, on loan, this season.
A number of clubs from the Premier League are reportedly interested in the 21-year-old central midfielder with the Seagulls leading the pack in the present circumstances. The Premier League debutants are evidently in a conspicuous situation this season and the inclusion of a player like Grujic can be of great help in their fight for survival in the top-flight.
Known for his passing and ability to control the ball in the middle of the pitch, the Serbian player has made only six appearances for the Reds this season. With the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Emre Can, Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and James Milner already present in the side, it is least expected that Grujic is going to get a nod ahead of them to star in the starting lineup and a move out of Anfield, preferably on loan, might be good for his career in the near future.
The player came to England after an impressive season with his former club Red Star Belgrade in 2016. However, he was sent on loan to play for the same club in January and is currently back at Anfield, awaiting his chance to make some significant contribution to his side in terms of performances.
Brighton have been wary of the form of their midfielders throughout the season so far and are eager to bring in reinforcements into the side in the next transfer window. They are hopeful that their pursuit for a good midfielder might end on Grujic but can he be the right man to help the Seagulls fly high?
