It has been pretty clear that Steven Nzonzi wants to leave Sevilla. The French midfielder has been made to train separately since he had a spat with manager Eduardo Berizzo.
The former Stoke City midfielder was subbed off in the Champions League match against Liverpool. He was brought off in the halftime when the Spanish side were trailing by three goals.
Although they went on to level on terms, thanks to some shoddy Liverpool defending but that started an ugly spat between the manager and the French international and since then he has been left out of the matchday squad.
This hasn’t gone very well with the player and he has decided to explore new options. Since moving to Spain in 2015 from Stoke City he has made a reputation for himself and the 28-year-old won’t have a dearth of suitors.
Arsenal have been one of the leading suitors of him but the player clearly declined a move to the Emirates. “My future is clearly elsewhere than in Seville.
“The only thing that disappoints me is the manner in which this is ending.
I’m indeed in London, but it’s got nothing to do with a transfer or football. I’ve come to see my son who lives here and to spend some time with him.
“As you can see, it’s not a question of signing for Arsenal or anywhere else.”
So if he isn’t going to sign Arsenal would be needed of a new player in place of him. Let’s have a look at three players who might arrive at the Emirates.
Idrissa Gueye
The Everton midfielder has established himself rather quickly in the heart of the Toffees midfield and has been a regular for the Merseyside club. He is known for his workload and works like a tireless engine to give the side to empower others.
The midfielder recently agreed to a long-term contract and if Wenger manages to convince him it would be a big coup for them.
Jean Michaël Seri
The Nice midfielder has been the subject of speculation but a move never happened. With Granit Xhaka badly struggling Arsenal need some much-needed blocking in the midfield and the 26-year-old Ivorian would be ideal for the job.
William Carvalho
The Portuguese midfield enforcer has become one of the most illustrated defensive midfielders amongst the current ranks. Not only he can hold the fort he also helps the team in pushing forward and that’sats why he could be a very big asset.
