Liverpool comes into this crucial Champions League game against the Russian champions Spartak Moskva at the back of a 5-1 away win versus Brighton & Hove Albion. Group E remains one of the most open groups going into game week 6 in the UEFA Champions League with three teams fighting it out to book their places in the knockout stages. A victory for the Reds would see them top their group while a draw would be enough to secure qualification. However, nothing other than maximum points at Anfield will suffice if the Russians are to qualify for the next round.
Jurgen Klopp will once again be without the services of Joel Matip who picked up a knock against Stoke City. Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klavan are both set to return after suffering from illness and will be joined by Loris Karius in goal. The Reds are expected to line up in a 4-3-3 formation with some of their star players in fine form.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Line-Up To Face Spartak Moskva
Defence
Loris Karius will start in goal having been chosen over Simon Mignolet for all European fixtures in this campaign. He will be protected by a back four which will consist of Joe Gomez at right back, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan at the heart of the defence while Alberto Moreno comes back to take his place on the left-hand side.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for a rare clean-sheet from his defence after the Reds gave up a 3-0 lead away at Sevilla in the last matchweek.
Midfield
Captain Jordon Henderson is likely to retain his place at the centre of the park and might start alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and the Brazilian magician, Phillipe Coutinho. The midfield trio will be responsible to retain possession and unlock the Spartak Moskva defence. Coutinho was sensational against Brighton on Saturday, which saw him score two goals from the midfield and will be hoping to do the same on Wednesday.
Attack
Sadio Mane should come back into the side after being rested against Brighton on Saturday. Roberto Firmino scored a brace in the last match and will be hoping to continue his good form in front of goal. Mohamed Salah is also set for a start and would want to add to his goal tally when the Reds kickoff on Wednesday night.
The front three of Liverpool has scored 33 goals while notching up 13 assists in between them so far this season. The Russians need to keep them quiet to have any chance of securing victory at Anfield.
