If there is one aspect of management Arsene Wenger has done brilliantly, it would have to be his management of young talent. The Frenchman has taken many a raw talent and drilled them through the rigorous course of learning and developing and turned them into future stars of tomorrow.
Wenger has been at the club since 1996. In his 21 year spell, he has revolutionized the training and development program at North London. The resulting nature of the introduction of such new methods has seen the club inducted with a new and efficient scouting network, a proficient youth academy and a manager in charge who simply loves to introduce young players on to the big stage.
Despite Wenger churning out many success stories, there has been many a failure of a potential star every now and then. While on few occasions it has been down to the player’s attitude or fitness problems, in most cases it has been the genuine lack of game time.
Knowing the stature of a club like Arsenal, Wenger cannot be blamed for not picking his established stars over young talents on a regular basis. The situation at the club right now is pretty unstable. Given such pressure to deliver, Wenger is unlikely to give too many chances to the young Gunners and it might be time for them to go out on loan to get some valuable game time under their belt.
Here is a look at three possible players who Arsenal should loan out
Joe Willock
Just 18 years old, Willock has already experienced European football. He made his debut this season for Arsenal in the league cup clash against Doncaster. League cup appearances although special, are not unheard of for young impressive players. What makes Willock’s case stand out is that he has also featured in 3 Europa League games for the club. He has a good, calm head on him and a decent passing range. Add to that his knack of dribbling past a few in the middle of the park and Arsenal might have a future winner in the ranks.
However, with regular game time hard to come by, Willock should look for a loan move away so as to not stagnate his career.
Jack Wilshere
His last loan spell was effective and had it not been for another unfortunate injury, Wilshere would have definitely picked up his old game by now. Instead, he is yet again found wanting and having to wait on the bench for his time to come. Although Wenger plans to introduce him slowly, time is not something Jack can waste anymore. He is running out of a contract at the end of the season and if Arsenal can get him to sign a new deal, they should definitely give him yet another stint on loan.
Jeff Reine-Adelaide
A versatile player, Reine-Adelaide can play in multiple positions. Despite being only 19 years old, the Frenchman has been impressive in his few outings and has shown enough maturity to gain Europa League game time, although only from the bench. He is yet to feature for any senior team match and must look for a loan move away to develop further, as a player.
