Celtic will travel to Hearts on Sunday looking to make it two wins on the spin this week. The Scottish champions have seen their lead cut to just two points following Aberdeen’s 4-1 victory over Hibernian on Saturday. Brendan Rodgers’ men can now stretch their lead to five points with a win versus Hearts on Sunday and ensure that they are in pole position to secure another Scottish Premiership title at the end of this campaign.
Rodgers is expected to once again opt for his favoured 3-5-2 formation and Jozo Simunovic might be in line for a return to the starting eleven following Dedryck Boyata’s injury in midweek. Hearts can close the gap to fourth-placed Hibernian to just three points with a win at home against the Hoops. The recent history of the fixture doesn’t make good reading for Hearts fans with Celtic winning their past five encounters against the Gorgie based club. It is all set to be another exciting game on Sunday with both sides looking to bag the three crucial points in the top tier of Scottish football.
3-5-2 Celtic Predicted Lineup To Face Hearts
Defence
Craig Gordon will once again resume his duties in goal for the Hoops and he will be protected by a back three of Kristoffer Ajer, the returning Jozo Simunovic and Nir Bitton. The Glaswegian club has got the best defensive record in the league and has conceded only 11 goals in 17 matches in the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic boss, Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that his defenders can continue the good run and keep another clean sheet away at Hearts.
Midfield
James Forrest is expected to continue on the right flank after scoring a goal in midweek and Callum McGregor might be used on the left side of the midfield. The trio of Olivier Ntcham, Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong will line up for the Hoops at the centre of the park. The match may be won and lost in the midfield so the performance of these players will be integral towards ensuring three points for Brendan Rodgers’ men on the day.
Attack
Scott Sinclair scored a goal in midweek and is expected to keep his place in the starting eleven. He might be paired up with Moussa Dembele up front. The duo has scored 19 goals in between them this season and Rodgers will be hoping that they can add to their goal tally when they lace up versus Hearts on Sunday.
