Manchester United have fallen apart following their disappointing derby loss at the hand of Manchester City. The noisy neighbours extended their lead to a staggering 11 points with a 2-1 win over the Red Devils.
With Premier League titles slipping away gradually United cannot sit back tight with a number of games are scheduled to take place. The Red Devils will have another chance to regain their ground as they host Bournemouth at the Old Trafford.
City broke United’s 40 matches unbeaten run and Jose Mourinho will have to start from the scratch again. The Theatre of Dreams had been turned into a fortress by their tight, rigid approach to the game and the vociferous crowd and often teams have found it difficult in this part of Manchester.
Bournemouth similarly have a difficult task to cut out as they could face the wrath of a frustrated Manchester United which could be quite dangerous. The Cherries have performed pretty well off late and most importantly they have been pretty solid away from home this term.
Predicted 3-4-2-1 Manchester United Starting Lineup Vs Bournemouth
Defence
David De Gea was superb against the city rivals and he has become one of the best in the business in the last couple of seasons. He is expected to be in the goal.
With Marcos Rojo carrying an injury Mourinho might opt for a three-man defence again. Phil Jones made it to the reserve bench in the last match and he could be inducted into the backline. He will be alongside Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling.
Midfield
Paul Pogba continues his three-match ban so he will be unavailable. Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera will be paired again in the middle of the pitch.
Ashley Young has made the left back position as his own and he is set to continue in the left wingback position. Antonio Valencia will start on the opposite side.
Attack
Henrikh Mkhitaryan hasn’t been utilized in the last few matches and he surprisingly missed out the derby. The Armenian playmaker is likely to be unleashed to the starting lineup.
Marcus Rashford scored the only goal in the last match and he is going to partner Mkhitaryan in the attack
Romelu Lukaku hasn’t found the net in the last few league games and time has come to get Zlatan Ibrahimovic back into the starting lineup. The big Swede will be spearheading the Red Devils side.
