Barcelona are currently flying high in the La Liga and have gained an unprecedented lead in the league table. They are looking determined to conquer the crown this time, being dispossessed of the glory in the last term by the arch-rivals Real Madrid.
The Blaugrana, however, did not have a very pleasant start to the season, at least in terms of team composition. They were left disappointed with the departure of their Brazilian superstar Neymar, who joined French giants Paris Saint Germain on a world record transfer fee. A number their key players including the likes of Andre Gomes, Sergi Roberto and new signing Ousmane Dembele have injuries, restricting them to be considered in the squad.
However, this has not been able to affect the smooth sailing of the Catalan brigade and they have already notched up 10 wins in their first 11 games so far this season. Their talisman and arguably the best player in the world, Lionel Messi, has been in the forefront of their outstanding achievement and has already scored a dozen goals to show for his tremendous effort.
But it might not be a very wise decision to put all of the pressure on the shoulder of the Argentine skipper and make the situation difficult for him to stay back at the club in the near future. This has prompted the Blaugrana to look for some new players who can help the mercurial forward and their Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez and play an imperative role in the team.
Reportedly, the former Spanish champions have shown a profound interest in the English youngster Dele Alli, who has hit the highest point of his form of late. He showed that he is adept to take on the best in the business when he struck two goals against the reigning European champions Real Madrid in his last match in the Champions League, guiding his club side Tottenham Hotspur to a famous victory at the Wembley Stadium.
His flamboyant display of skills and goal scoring ability have earned rave reviews from a number of experts from all around Europe and has attracted the attention of a number of big-name clubs towards him. The 21-year-old is also hopeful of securing a move to Nou Camp in the near future and pair up with the likes of Messi and Suarez to lead the attack for the Catalan giants.
However, with Tottenham looking to keep possession of their prized midfielder for some more years to come, it might be wise for the Blaugrana to put off their interest in Alli for the time being.
