Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for another left back as they have the fear they might lose Danny Rose in the near future. The English international is tipped to be the first choice left back for Gareth Southgate’s England and also is in the fray of Manchester United, as Jose Mourinho is believed to be preparing an offer for the player.
Spurs are quite aware of the situation and are readying their contingency plan if the player does move out of the North London club. Mauricio Pochettino seems to have already found out his replacement as Spurs are reportedly eyeing a move for Bologna left-back Adam Masina.
Spurs were further pegged back as they failed to muster a win in consecutive matches. The North London giants struggled to get past a rigid West Bromwich Albion and had to be satisfied with a 1-1 draw.
So Pochettino would feel the urge of bringing some new players and Masina could be the first of many in the January transfer window. The 23-year old’s stock has gone upwards and he has been pretty impressive for the Serie-A side this season.
The Morocco-born player opted to represent Italy at the international level and even featured for the Azzurri U21 side. With Italy failing to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 60 years, they are scheduled to undergo a transition and the 23-year-old is touted to have a place in the senior set-up.
Bologna are on a fine run this season in the Serie-A and are very much hot on the heels of Sampdoria who were just defeated by Bologna. Masina has been the on-field leader for the Italian side who are dreaming of a European spot at the end of this season.
Rose has been at the top of his form for the last couple of seasons but this season he had to spend a significant amount of time on the sidelines with a prolonged injury scare. But since he has returned he is looking in good shape and it would be a bit hard for Masina to replicate his activity on the pitch.
