Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is highly interested in the services of Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir. Following an embarrassing start to the season, Los Blancos are in for busy transfer windows ahead, and as per reports, Zidane has been keenly following the progress of Nabil Fekir.
Even though Fekir’s current contract with Les Gones is dated until 2020, his blistering performances this season, has drawn a lot of attention in Europe, which will surely improve his chances of departing the club next summer.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are in desperate need of an additional midfielder, following their shortcomings in recent weeks. The European champions have failed to dominate their opposition due to lack of penetration into the final third. In fact, many reports claim that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is increasingly unhappy with the performances of Toni Kroos in recent matches.
To resolve this problem, however, the Spanish giants are leaning towards the transfer market. And Lyon’s Nabil Fekir could actually be a perfect solution to their lack of fluidity and dynamism in the offensive half.
Nabil Fekir, by all means, is a potent attacker who can play anywhere in the attacking zones. Naturally, an attacking midfielder, the 24-year-old can even play down the role of an auxiliary center forward.
Fekir is known for his agility, which coupled with his rather short figure, helps him work his way into the attacking areas, even in tight spaces. Apart from his swift movements, he has the eye for that elusive through ball to find a teammate inside the box. The French International averages more than two key passes per game.
Furthermore, the Lyon starlet has the ability to make full use of his trickery to get past opposing defenders as well, which is clearly evident considering the fact that he has acquired an impressive take-on success rate of 75%. Most importantly, however, it is his goal-scoring prowess, which makes Nabil Fekir a much more unique player than all his counterparts. The Algerian-born midfielder has managed a rake up a total of 11 goals in just 11 matches in the French Ligue 1 this season, which has somewhat helped Lyon to plug the gap left by Alexandre Lacazette during the summer transfer window.
Nabil Fekir still has a long way to go in his career, but his recent form, clearly suggests that he is ready to make the next step in his career. And therefore, a move to Real Madrid makes perfect sense, even more so, considering the fact that Los Blancos are in dire need of someone like himself on their roster.
