After the departure of Pedro Caixinha, the scenarios have dished out in an appealing manner for Rangers. Under the tutelage of their interim manager in the shape of Graeme Murty, the Gers hosted Partick Thistle at the Ibrox Stadium earlier today and registered a stupendous 3-0 victory over the Jags.
Ross McCrorie and Daniel Candeias gave the Light Blues a well deserved 2-0 lead by the end of the first-half and after coming out of the tunnel, Josh Windass’ finish took the game away from Alan Archibald’s troops as Rangers went on to clinch their second win in the two games they have played under Murty.
The Teddy Bears have now collected 24 points from 12 games in the Scottish Premiership and here is our Rangers’ players ratings from what transpired this weekend.
Wes Foderingham 7/10
The custodian was hardly tested but looked comfortable whenever he was called upon to do the needful and deserved to bag a clean sheet.
James Tavernier 7/10
The right-back knitted a fine balance between his offensive and defensive duties and showcased his work-ethic once again.
Ross McCrorie 9/10
McCrorie smashed the first goal of the game, as well as his first goal for the Glasgow based club. He looked very confident at the back as well as he hardly put a foot wrong, as he looked assured and read the game meticulously.
Danny Wilson 7.5/10
Alongside McCrorie, Wilson looked resilient and composed and made Murty’s choice of opting him in the starting line-up a very sensible one.
Declan John 7/10
On the left, John seemingly appeared to be in full confidence whenever he had the ball and put on yet another decent performance.
Daniel Candeias 7/10
The summer signing assisted McCrorie and scored a goal himself in the first-half. Candeias looked sharp, aggressive and always looked desirous to chalk something spectacular for his side.
Ryan Jack 7/10
On many occasions, he was given the license to roam freely in the midfield, but he couldn’t really put forth an outing worth remembering. He should have done better and should have scored the goal in the chance he received early in the first-half.
Jason Holt 8/10
Under Caixinha, Holt really struggled to make his mark but lately, the midfielder has been absolutely fantastic in cultivating energy into his side in their attacking endeavours and toiled relentlessly against Thistle earlier today.
Josh Windass 7/10
Although he found the back of the net early in the second half, Windass should have contributed more, defensively as well as offensively.
Kenny Miller 7/10
The veteran marshalled his teammates and channelized the game in the right direction with his experience and pedigree.
Alfredo Morelos 7.5/10
Although his name wasn’t there on the scoreboard, the youngster carved scintillating passes to tear apart the defence of the opposition and it goes without saying that a substantial part of his side’s productivity would rely on him this season.
Substitutions:
Niko Kranjcar 6/10
Kranjcar substituted Windass, and after coming on, he did look purposeful and kept things steady in the middle.
Ryan Hardie NA
He replaced Morelos late in the second-half and hardly had the time to make a point.
