With their victory against Watford, Everton provided themselves with a much-needed lifeline to claw their way back into the safe zone in the league table this season. They are currently placed in the 15th place in the Premier League and are not too far from the dreaded possibility of getting pushed into the second tier by the end of the season.
The Merseyside club faced six defeats since the start of the season and have been bogged down by the lack of composure among the players in every department of their side so far, especially in the midfield. The Toffees are in search of some new faces to be added to their lineup, which might help find some lost form.
One such player is the Brazilian midfielder Rafinha, who is currently playing for the Spanish giants Barcelona. The 24-year-old, however, has failed to become a regular in their lineup since his inclusion to the senior side in 2013 and might look to force his way out of Nou Camp in the next transfer window.
This has put a number of clubs from all over Europe on alert including the Blues from Merseyside, who are in dire need of quality players in their squad, strengthening it to the core and helping them out of the dismal position they are currently in.
The Toffees spent a significant sum of money in the last transfer market to bring in a number of good players to the side. However, they have not been able to play to their potential so far this season and have let down their side big time, leading to the sacking of their manager Ronald Koeman, who helped them to finish at the seventh position in the Premier League in the last term.
The Brazilian midfielder had a great time during his tenure with the Barcelona “B” side, which made his selection possible in the senior squad. But things have not gone well so far for the player with the Blaugrana and he has been very seldom selected in the first team, which has been worsened since the arrival of their new manager Ernesto Valverde, who is not in favour of using the 24-year-old in his squad and might sell in the near future.
The inclusion of the player might be a good one for the Toffees as they need someone who can give stability to their midfield and help their cause to turn the tide in their favour in the Premier League this season. But is he the right man for them?
