Rangers had a somewhat questionable start to the season under Pedro Caixinha. However, he was sacked back in October leaving caretaker boss, Graeme Murty in charge. Under Murty, Rangers have played two, won two, scoring three in both games. They will be hoping to continue this form going into Saturday’s game vs Hamilton in which a win could see them move up to second on the table.
Predicted 4-4-2 Rangers Line-up To Face Hamilton
Formation: 4-4-2
Rangers have used a variety of formations this season. It was the 4-4-2 they opted for in their last match vs Patrick Thistle. And given that they earned a comfortable 3-0 win with this system, they are likely to implement it again this weekend.
GK: Wes Foderingham
Foderingham has started every one of Ranger’s league games this season. He has kept just three clean sheets in those 12 games. But after he kept one in Ranger’s last game vs Patrick Thistle, fans will be hoping he can carry on that form into Saturday’s game.
RB: James Tavernier
Tavernier like Foderingham has played in all 12 of Rangers league games this season. He also has a very impressive record this season boasting of five assists in 12 league games and also one goal.
That is a very impressive record for someone playing at right back and he is very likely to start on Saturday given what he brings to the side in an attacking sense.
CB: Danny Wilson
Wilson found himself out of favour under Pedro Caixinha. However, since he has been sacked, Wilson has started in both of Ranger’s games under the caretaker boss, Graeme Murty.
Wilson has been impressive in both games. Rangers only conceded one goal in those two games which is good considering their quiet shaky defence. Therefore, Wilson is likely to keep his place vs Hamilton.
CB: Ross McCrorie
McCrorie is another who seems to be cementing a first-team place under Murty. McCrorie and Wilson have been Murty’s go to centre-back pairing for his two games in charge. So, given that Rangers did well in both games, he is likely to keep the same centre-back partnership.
LB: Declan John
John came into the Rangers side largely to replace Lee Wallace who suffered an injury. Wallace is still not 100%. So, John is likely to retain his spot at left back for now.
RM: Daniel Candeias
Candeias is another player who has featured in every league game this season. While his overall performance has not been anything special, his last game was fantastic.
When Rangers took on Patrick Thistle he scored one and assisted one in their 3-0. Meaning he is very likely to start against Hamilton.
CM: Jason Holt
Holt has not played much for Rangers this season managing just five league appearances. However, they have all been in Rangers’ last five league games in which Holt has earned one goal and three assists. A very impressive tally for a centre midfielder suggesting he will retain his place for the weekend.
CM: Ryan Jack
Jack has featured in 11 of Rangers 12 league games this season. He does not contribute much in terms of goals and assists. However, he does provide excellent link-up play. He is likely to keep his place tomorrow.
LM: Josh Windass
Windass is another who seems to be coming into his own under Murty. He has featured in 11 league games this season. But in those 11 league games, he only managed one goal and two assists.
However, under Murty, Windass has scored in both of Rangers last two games. So, he is likely to start vs Hamilton to allow him to continue his good goalscoring form.
ST: Alfredo Morelos
Morelos has not scored in any of his last six SPL games for Rangers suggesting he maybe shouldn’t be starting up front tomorrow. But he is still Rangers top scorer with six. He also earned two assists in his last three matches suggesting he is contributing to the team in other ways.
ST: Kenny Miller
Miller had a horrible time at Rangers while Caixinha was in charge and it looked like he would be on his way out. But now Caixinha has gone, Miller has started Rangers last two games scoring two and assisting one. Therefore, it looks like Miller is set to become a regular first team starter again. And he will likely start vs Hamilton.
