Scottish champions Celtic will travel to the Global Energy Stadium as they take on Ross County on Saturday. Brendan Rodgers’ men are in stupendous form in the league this season and are still unbeaten in their previous 64 league outings.
The Celts will look to keep the pressure up on second-placed Aberdeen with a win, which could help them sustain a three-point lead over the Dandles. A win for Ross Country, however, will help them stay clear from the bottom half of the table. Owen Coyle’s side are currently 8th in the table with 14 points on the board.
The 48-time Scottish champions have already dispatched Ross County this season with a 4-0 win, thanks to a James Forrest brace as well as goals from Tom Rogic and Moussa Dembele. However, the Staggies will be giving a much tougher fight this weekend, as we prepare for another exciting clash in the Scottish Premiership.
Here’s the predicted Celtic lineup to face Ross County on Saturday.
Defence
Celtic’s number one keeper Craig Gordon will be the man between the sticks for the Celts. The veteran keeper has already kept six clean sheets in 11 league outings so far and will be looking further his tally this weekend.
Head coach Brendon Rodgers has tons of injury concerns, especially in the defensive department, with key players like centre-backs Jozo Simunovic and Erik Sviatchenko and right back Anthony Ralston missing out on the clash.
Dedryck Boyata and Leon Bitton will continue to deputize Celtic’s injured defenders while Mikael Lustig and Kieran Tierney, both returning from International duty this week, will start as the fullbacks.
Midfield
French midfielder Olivier Ntcham is currently experiencing a minor wound, which might just be enough to rule him out for the clash. Stuart Armstrong is, thus, expected to be given the nod ahead of Ntcham in central midfield.
The 25-year-old will accompany club captain Scott Brown in central midfield. Brown has been an ever-present figure in the middle of the park for Celtic and his presence will be important as they aim to dominate Ross County this weekend.
Attack
The attacking lineup will consist of James Forrest and Scott Sinclair starting in the wider positions. The two wingers have been a crucial part of Celtic’s success in recent years.
Callum McGregor, on the other hand, will start as the main attacking midfielder for Brendan Rodgers’ side with Australian midfielder Tom Rogic missing out while Moussa Dembele leading the offensive charge for Celtic.
