Wolverhampton Wanderers are in pole position to secure promotion into the Premier League and are currently in first place with 18 games gone in the Championship. The West Midlands club will be looking to continue their recent good form when they take on Bolton Wanderers this weekend.
On Wednesday night, the Wolves thumped Leeds United 4-1 at home, which marked their biggest home win of the season. Barry Douglas, Ivan Cavaleiro, Diego Jose Jota and substitute Helder Costa, all scored as the club cruised to their 13th league victory of the campaign.
The Wolves will now look to do the same against fellow Championship strugglers, Bolton, who are languishing at the bottom of the Championship table.
With the club having already played a fixture in midweek, it remains to be seen whether the Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo decides to rest some of his players.
But barring any exceptions, they are set to play the 3-4-3 formation yet again with the team performing so well with it.
Predicted 3-4-3 Wolves Line-Up Vs Bolton
Defence
The veteran Wolves keeper, John Ruddy is set to keep his place in the first eleven. Ryan Benett, Conor Coady and Willy Bolly will protect him and make up the back 3. The Wolves defence has just conceded 16 goals this season with only Cardiff City conceding less than them.
So it is no wonder that the Wanderers’ boss is keeping the faith in his backline and lining up with the same defensive formation in almost every match.
Midfield
It is expected that the Wolves’ manager will once again opt for a midfield four. Matt Doherty is set to take his usual spot on the right flank. Romain Saiss will partner Ruben Neves in central midfield while Barry Douglas should start on the left.
Douglas scored from a wonderful freekick in midweek and should be full of confidence ahead of the game against Bolton on Saturday. The manager may start Ruben Vinagre in his place if he feels that the Scottish footballer needs some time to recover from midweek.
Attack
Wolves are the leading scorers in the Championship and part of it is down to their excellent front three. The West Midlands club has scored 35 goals so far this season, and 18 of them has been scored by the duo of Lohner Leo Bonatini (10 goals) and Diego Jose Jota (8 goals). Both of them are set to start again with Ivan Cavaleiro, as part of the Wolves frontline.
The manager will also rely on Helder Costa to come off the bench and have an impact like he did against Leeds United on Wednesday night.
