After their recent derby win against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal travel to Turf Moor to take on Sean Dyche’s high flyers, Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday. Both teams are currently level on points with only goal difference separating one from another. The Clarets have performed out of their skins this season, which has seen them climb to the 7th position in the Premier League standings, just a place lower than Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s men have made a mediocre start to the season, to say the least. They have struggled to find form and get a good run of wins under their belt.
On Sunday, both sides will be looking to bag all three points in what is set to be an exciting clash in Lancashire. The Gunners can boast a terrific recent record against the Clarets, which has seen them win their last six clashes. Arsene Wenger would be hoping for that trend to continue as they look to continue on the winning ways for the rest of this season and make a strong push for the Champions League places.
It is expected that the Gunners will name an unchanged side from their excellent derby day victory against the Spurs. He will probably stick with his favored 3-4-2-1 formation as well.
Predicted 3-4-2-1 Arsenal Line-Up Vs Burnley
Defence
Petr Cech will resume his duties in goal for the Gunners and will once again be protected by a back three consisting of Nacho Monreal, Laurent Koscielny, and Shkodran Mustafi. Arsene Wenger is expected to continue with the same defensive line up which he deployed in their 2-0 triumph against Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs last week.
Burnley has scored 12 goals in 12 Premier League encounters, which is equivalent to a goal every game. The Gunners need to ensure that they keep a clean sheet to gives themselves the best chance of victory.
Midfield
The Gunners’ midfield four will consist of Sead Kolasinac on the left flank, Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey taking charge of central midfield while Hector Bellerin will look to use his pace on the right flank.
All four of them will likely set themselves up in a way that can stifle the Burnley midfield and provide support to the Gunners’ attacking trio.
Attack
Arsenal superstars Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will operate just behind striker Alexandre Lacazette as part of the Gunners forward line. They were sensational against Tottenham Hotspur and will look to continue their good form against the Clarets on Sunday.
