Liverpool already have a number of exciting youngsters in their ranks but it seems the Reds are pretty desperate to enhance their youth system as the club have been linked with a move for Wolves starlet Morgan Gibbs-White.
Jurgen Klopp already unearthed a gem in Dominic Solanke as he grabbed the player from Chelsea in the summer and has now identified the youngster Gibbs-White in a bid to add more depth to his midfield. The 17-year-old played a pivotal part in the U17 World Cup held in India helping England to win the title.
The Reds are believed to be quite impressed with his showings in the tournament and now want to bring the teenager at Anfield. A bid of £5m could see him part ways with Wolves in January as Klopp wants to boost his ambitious project by investing in youth products.
Liverpool have nurtured a number of young talents as the likes of Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who have made it all the way to the senior setup and has been extensively used by Klopp this season.
Liverpool are in pole position to secure the signature of the English youngster but both the North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are sniffing around him as well. A number of youngsters with the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Winks have been moulded by Mauricio Pochettiono into a much superior player and the English teenager could follow the suit if he is picked by Tottenham in the near future.
He has been with Wolves since the age of eight and his current deal runs until the end of next season. The Championship side are quite happy with his development but time is running out for them.
Wolves are very desperate to offer the youngster renewed terms as they are well aware of his ability. But they have to wait for at least two more months until he turns 18 in January.
Wolves are currently flying high in the Championship as they have maintained their dominance, cementing their position in the top of the table. Gibbs-White hasn’t featured for them this season but the player is very highly regarded at the club and gaffer Nuno Espirito Santo might test him in the big league in the near future.
He is suited well to a central role in the midfield but can also play in a bit advanced position. The player knows he needs to step up a bit to progress to the next stage and a move to Liverpool is likely to kick-start the proceedings.
